Owen Hanmer and Tony Wall were the 2024 winners of the Browns of Wem Bowling League Doubles beating last year’s winner Neil Jones and Kieran Walker 21-17 in a closely matched final. On their way to the trophy they beat Di Pugh and Chloe Wilson 21-16, Neil Ashley and Tom Stanhope 21-9, Nigel Ferrington and Greg Jones 21-18 and Lee Walmsley and Lewis Hanmer 21-8 in the semi final.
The other semi final saw Neil and Kieran beating Steve Ashton and Andy Cooke 21-12 having earlier won against Clair Barker and Charlotte Butler 21-9 and Brandon and Richard Lee 21-7.
There were 23 entries and the shield was presented by the League’s Chairman, David Charles.
