Emily Cunningham emerged a worthy winner of the Wem League Singles competition. After overcoming her husband Tony in the Preliminary Round (21-20) she came through a difficult game against Chris Stretch in the last 8. It didn’t get any easier when she drew defending champion Rich Lawson in the semi final. However, another excellent display saw her through to the final.
Meanwhile , Will Tyler battled his way through from the other half of the draw to claim his place in the final. Emily completed an impressive day of bowling with a comfortable 21-8 win to take the trophy. The trophy was presented by league chairman David Charles who congratulated Emily for being the first female to lift the cup.
