Chris Jones of Monkmoor was the 2026 Merit winner beating teammate Danny Wornell 21-16.
The competition was held on the two greens at Old Shrewsbury Bowling Club and there were 27 entries, with 9 clubs represented.
Chris first had to beat Lee Walmsley (Prince Hotel) 21-10, followed by Stuart Dorsett (Monkmoor) 21-16, Neil Hyde (Bayston Hill) 21-20 and Tom Palmer (Castlefields) 21-17. Danny won his first game 21-20 against last year’s Merit winner, Nigel Ferrington (Prince Hotel), and then Bret Taylor (Unison) 21-8 and Andy Pullen 21-16.
